I can’t believe it has been almost an entire month since the Christmas holiday. I guess the reason that I feel this way is because the month after Christmas has literally flown by. I have been super busy at work (with the exception of the few days that I got off to celebrate the New Year), so it seems like the time has gone by quite quickly.

Although this may sound like a bad thing, I actually don’t mind it at all. The reason that I am okay with the time going by so quickly is because I know I am going to be having a really enjoyable time during the second week of March. The event that is going to make the second week of March so much fun for me is taking my family on a trip to Los Angeles. This is the present that I gave my family on Christmas, and even though there is still over a month before we leave for our trip, my family has continued to be excited about this trip since Christmas Day.

Well, even though I wasn’t planning on traveling anywhere during the month of February, that all changed in the middle of this month. The reason that it changed is because at the last minute, the company I worked for decided that they were going to let all of us take off on President’s Day. Normally, we never get off for President’s Day (or similar holidays that are considered to be less significant than Christmas or Thanksgiving), but as a result of the lower morale around our office (due to the layoffs that our company has had to make), management decided that giving us a day off would be good for everyone.

Once I found out I wasn’t working, I instantly hopped online to see if I could scoop up any last minute travel deals. To my delight, I found a flight and rental car combination for Los Angeles at a very low price. The reason that I wanted to go to Los Angeles was because my nephew plays on his college’s lacrosse team, and since he lives far away, I never get to see him play. Fortunately, this three day weekend gave me the opportunity to head out to Los Angeles and not only see my nephew play, but also to spend some quality time with him.

Although I now live on the other side of the United States, I grew up along the West Coast of the United States. I lived there for a full eighteen years, until I got a scholarship to the University of Colorado and decided that in order to pursue my education and my dreams, I was going to have to leave the place that I had always called home. I had thought that I would return to the West Coast after I graduated from college, but I ended up getting offered an amazing job on the East Coast during my last semester in college, and since there was no way I could turn down this offer, I had to move even farther away from home.

Fortunately, even though I don’t get to spend as much time there as I would like, I do get to fly home somewhat regularly to see my parents and other family members. Whenever I visit Los Angeles, I always grab a rental car at the airport so I can drive around and reminisce about all the things I used to do when I lived in that city.

In case you didn’t know, Los Angeles is a really glamorous place. I know you have seen what LA’s like from watching one of the many reality television shows that takes place in this city. Although the drama on those shows might be fake, their depiction of Los Angeles is right on the money. LA really is a glamorous and glitzy place with a lot of beautiful people, and if you are looking for a spot where you can have a great time on a trip, it’s hard to beat what this city has to offer.

I just got back from LA a couple of weeks ago, and it was the fourth trip that I have taken there. Even though I have been there multiple times, I always find lots of new things to do when I visit LA. It’s a city that doesn’t sleep, so it’s constantly growing and changing. As soon as I arrive at the Los Angeles airport, I always pickup a rental car, because I never know where my trips to Los Angeles are going to take me!
